We just want to say thanks to all of you who showed interest in the Springfield, MO 2011 ASB TRIP. We are sad to know that we are unable to sign up all of you, but to those who were able to register for our trip, we want to say congratulations. Yeah, congratulations on being apart of the greatest trip EVER (yeah, we will probably say this in every blog/ email that we send out, so get use to it)!!!
Anyhow, we hope that you all are Pumped, Excited, and Ready because these CHAMPIONS of THE OZARKS are going to rock our vacation!! We will be rolling balls down an alley; shooting hoops; practicing our diaphragmatic breathing before we run, and having the best/ longest karaoke contest during our 24+ hours of driving– we know that this will be the most exciting part. Along with volunteering with these champs, we will be visiting neighboring towns, grab a bite and do those touristy things, so DO bring your cameras. We will also be doing our thing in St. Louis… IT’S DOUBLE OFFICIAL.
So get excited and be ready to have some fun,
Sharrod & Bridget
P.S. You should all probs learn this dance by the time spring break rolls around…
This past weekend was a momentous occasion, you all signed up for your Favorite ASB Trip!!!! For those of you who selected Springfield, MO, congrats, for those who didn’t, better luck next year because we are going to have The best trip ever!!!!
Right now we are sitting in the office sipping on a cup of Joe (that’s coffee for all you hip cool cats); enjoying the Boston Snow, come on BU you didn’t cancel school; and preparing our trip packets that we know you will love.
BTW, we do not know who any of our trip volunteers are, so we are going to create a facebook group to find out who you beautiful people are… Keep a look out for it.
Oh yeah… Brad Pitt born and possibly raised in Springfield, MO; I’m just saying.

Hey hey ASBers,
Hope everyone is having a wonderful break! I’m shipping back up to Boston tomorrow morning before some snow storm takes over the Northeast, so I thought I’d write a little solo post… This break has been all the standard: relaxing, work-free (kind of), full of home-cooked meals, and much needed sleep.
Winter break highlights:
- Trips into Philadelphia for a classic cheesesteak, followed by the best gelato on the planet at Capogiro’s (yes, better than Italy, and I can say that because I studied abroad there last summer). Clearly, a stellar combo of Philadelphia’s finest.
- Visiting my best friend at Drexel, who goes back to school absurdly early. So glad BU is not on the quarter system.
- Skiing at Elk mountain… I hadn’t skied in a year, but getting back on the slopes was a lot of fun and resulted in only one major fall, surprisingly.
- Getting to an EAGLES game… not the playoff loss that I’m still mourning, and no, don’t want to talk about… but the last home game which was a pitiful loss to the Dallas Cowboys, but still cool to get to the Linc & hear the crowds actual cheers.
But I am extremely excited to get back to BU and back to planning for the BEST ASB TRIP EVER. I’m especially excited for trip info sessions January 25th & 26th! Come check out our trip and the many glorious others in a couple weeks. Enjoy this last week of sleeping in and non-dining hall meals. Boston, here I come!
Hey, everyone! In case you forgot what we look like, here’s our beautiful picture to remind you. We hope that the last week of classes are going well for you and that finals won’t be too stressful! We have been working hard to work on trip packets, updating our blog information, and getting food donations for the week together. Everyone should get excited for registration January 30th! Also, all week in the GSU link from 11am-3pm, make sure to buy raffle tickets to win your first choice trip and avoid registration! We’ll continue to keep you posted with more info about Springfield, MO and the Champion Athletes of the Ozarks. Happy studying until then!
Welcome to the Springfield, MO trip, aka the best trip ever. So far in the office we’ve made calls to Champions of the Ozarks with our superstar contact, Susan Miles. We will have a roof over our heads over spring break, as Pastor Thayer has confirmed our stay at the Grace Church of the Nazarene on Walnut Lawn. We’ve also taken an in-depth look at the exciting town of Springfield, MO, investigating all of its deep, dark secrets. We don’t want to give everything away at once, but…. BRAD PITT grew up in Springfield, MO!!! And Springfield is the birth place of cashew chicken… uhm… exciting. We look forward to sharing more fun info about Springfield and our trip over the coming weeks. Stay tuned & get pumped!!! Also, take the time to watch our magnificent video and learn a bit about us!
